C-38. C-38 run.

Tuesday, June 28, 2005

So I just watched Bill C-38 pass, live on CPAC. Now, I'm not some huge same-sex marriage proponent, but I do consider myself liberal. Perhaps not A Liberal, but liberal in the non-political sense of the word. Bill C-38, incidentally, is the bill modifying the meaning of 'marriage' to include same-sex couples.
I think a large part of my satisfaction at seeing this come to pass is that it's a major defeat for Harper's Conservatives. There were even 2 or 3 Conservative MPs who voted 'yes' on the bill.

On a side note, there's a Bloc Quebecois member named Mr. Laframboise (the raspberry). That's awesome. That's him off on the left. Isn't he a happy looking fellow?

Chretienerated

Sunday, June 26, 2005

I'd totally forgotten about Chretien's fall until Christielli mentioned it in one of her comments to my last post. So, without further ado...

That is just poetry in frozen-motion if I've ever seen it. Not enough can be said about the absolutely wonderful pictures, and soundbytes that this man left for us during his Prime Ministership.

As you can see, I've also given the old blog a facelift, which was way overdue. Lemme know, keep it or go back to the old template?

Okay so I lied

Right, so apparently I was making up those other football catch pictures, even though I could swear they existed... However, I did manage to find some classic gems of campaign pictures. That Chretien, man he could do no wrong!

Mercer-ised

Hey, everyone's gotta look on the right and click on the link to Rick Mercer's blog. He posted a pic of Harper stumbling towards a football, (the same picture appears to the left of this text, incase you couldn't tell) which has been photoshopped by some of his fans into 3 pretty funny pictures.
Why is it that politicians insist on throwing around a football in the presence of people with cameras? No matter how good they are, the photographers always manage to snap a picure of whomever the politicians are at the worst moment possible. This has lead me to see what pictures I can find and post them here. I can recall a Chretien picture, and I'm sure there's one with Preston Manning.

sphere-o-blogs

Thursday, June 23, 2005

You know how every year some dictionary publisher comes out with a list of words from the prior year that they think should be removed from the language?
I'll bet any of you $500 that for 2005 that word is none other than....

blogosphere

What a stupid word.
Comment.
or die.
