I'd like to hear the Conservative party's reasoning behind this.
Maybe it's God's will for us to never explore or - Heaven forbid - learn more about space.
This makes me mad too. Canada has a lot of intelligent folks and I feel maybe we're too often overlooked.
And for some strange reason, the American Star Wars program comes to mind. Maybe we'll have to resort to nicknaming the new rover "Marvin the Martian", or something equally as contrived in order for it to fly with this right-wing bastards.

I'll tell you their reasoning: according to them, it's an excessively superfluous liberally-engineered make-work project that will not directly benefit hockey parents, christians or money-grubbing bigots the way a tax cut will and must therefore be scrapped in favour of more loose change - just like kyoto, just like the court challenges program, just like funding for museums and student internships, just like women's programs, just like virtually anything that matters to people who didn't grow up in little money-grubbing, intellectually-deprived islands of nonsense.
We need to save that money so we can use it to help Bush attack Iran or some other axis of evil nation. That's it, I'm sure. I know that good ol' Harpy wouldn't use the money for social programs or the environment.
