So's I just read that Colin decided not to go to greece after all. Apparently, according to the White House he's not able to go due to "the press of business in Washington." Isn't that funny? Who would schedule a trip for someone (who certainly must have his schedule worked out weeks if not months in advance) if it was clear that his absence for one night could not be tolerated due to all the business he needs to attend.
I was watching The Daily Show earlier tonight as well, Bill Clinton was a guest. I am SO fucking happy that I don't live in the states (as if I need another reason). If I had to deal with an election campaign that ran for OVER ONE WHOLE YEAR I think I'd go insane. Especially if it was a shit-filled as this year's US election. A buncha fucking 'swift boat veterans' talking shit about serving with Kerry, when in fact none of them served with him. Clinton and Stewart (John) also pointed out that the SAME group of 'men' spoke out against (perhaps the only sane US politician) John McCain. Alleging that he apparently gave up some information or something against the US while he was a POW for all those years. What a bunch of fucking whiners.
In other news, here's a humourous story that I noticed on cnn.com today:
MIAMI, Florida (AP) -- Small toys showing an airplane flying into the World
Trade Center were packed inside more than 14,000 bags of candy and sent to small groceries around the country before being recalled.
Lisy Corp., the wholesaler that distributed the candy, said Friday that the toys were purchased
in bulk from a Miami-based import company. The toys came in an assortment purchased sight unseen from L&M Import in Miami and included the toys depicting the attacks on the World Trade Center of September 11, 2001, along with whistles and other small toys, said Luis Pedron, Lisy's national sales manager. The invoice described the toy as a plastic swing set.
