matt's adventures in dentistry, the second

Tuesday, October 10, 2006

I write this with a frozen half-face. The first part of the root canal is completed, and so far no leftover pain, thanks to the remaining freezing. Once again, the cute assistant was assisting, Alex is her name, according to her nametag.
This post will probably be shorter than the last one, since there weren't really any surprises.
He started out pretty much right away, injecting me with the stuff then leaving while it set. CBC was on the tv above me, except it was Coronation St. so I didn't really pay much attention. What followed was quite a lot of drilling, and the dentist saying things like "Oh this is a difficult one", and the assistant asking me how I was doing.
There wasn't any pain, except when he was cutting away some of my gums, he moved the cauterizing blade a little too far back, where it wasn't quite numb. Also, when he was jamming that wire down the roots of my tooth, if he went a little too far it stung.
So now it's covered with a 'temporary cap', and as such I'm not supposed to bite down on anything with it.

In other news, it snowed today! See Flickr for some pics if you're so inclined.

I hate when the dentist says 'Oh this is a difficult one' Errr! But oh Matt, I'm glad that you made it out alive :) I hope that you're not in too much pain.

I would send you a get-well card and some of my homemade cookies, but you know...

Alex eh? Oh Matt. I think someone has a crush :P lol! Sorry. I'm so childish.

I heard that you had snow. That's just crazy! It's way too early for snow.

    Take care!
