#301

Sunday, April 23, 2006

So I just noticed now that my last post there was post #300. Go me.

Today was day 2 of the garage project. The goal for today was to raise the rafters of the garage to eliminate that bow that the roof had developped. This was partly accomplished with a jack from my dad's van, and multple pieces of wood, a hammer, some nails, a saw, and a ladder. We did about 6/9 of the rafters today, more next week. But as you can see, the roof already looks better. After on top, before on bottom:

I also got my dad to drive me to Sport Chek, because I saw they had a big sale on last year's model bikes. But, when I got there they were all out. So instead I had him take me to Home Depot to buy a lawn mower:

After we were done for the day, and went back in the house to check out what my mom had sent with my dad, and it was this:

It's a mini-donut cake!! You know, those ridiculously delicious mini donuts which can be found at any fair/festival worth its salt. The best thing about this picture is that the min-donut cake box is sitting on a box of a dozen Tim Hortons cookies, courtesy of my dad. Donut overload!

And thankfully my sunburn doesn't hurt too bad, only when I forget my arms are burnt and scratch away as if they were fine. I bought some sunblock last evening so I could protect my poor arms today. It seems to have worked, as they don't look any more burned. Thanks for your concern Laura :P

Le sigh... tonight is the Death Cab for Cutie/Franz Ferdinand concert. And me without my ticket. Oh well, I'll just wait until Death Cab comes on its own tour, so I won't be competing for tickets with people wanting to see another band.

    Mmmm.... Donut Cake.

Lucky you getting a sunburn. It was be-you-ti-ful all during the week and then the weekend comes along and it rains for practically every friggin' second. I am still cold and slightly damp from coming back from running errands today.

I missed the FF/DCFC show too. I heard that FF weren't all that good and the fire alarm kept going off during DCFC. Stupid arena shows.

    Have a good week!

ps Congrats for being so handy on the weekend.

And maybe I'm not well-versed in the ways of the roof....but what is different? LOL, blond moment here was come!

Glad you finally got some sun screen ;)

I'll make you a blog layout anytime you want :)

I would just need somewhat of an idea of what kind of layout you are looking for.

    Take care.

Happy roofing! Turn in that raincheque for coffee sometime soon? Maybe we'll wait till you're a summer-loner.
