So tonight I tried out my lawnmower. The nice thing is that I can listen to my ipod and cut the grass at 10pm and no one can care, since it's quiet.
I remembered that thing I forgot to blog about yesterday. Yesterday my boss came into my office, closed the door, sat down, and eventually told me that due to language issues I'd be the one to have to find a position somewhere else.
Now, to be fair there is a lot of support from the organisation for me to find a new position, I don't have to worry about being out of a job. There's going to be a position open at the branch where the new account manager is coming from, but I'm not sure I want to go there. I also feel like if I say no to that position, I'll seem picky. Meh, whatever. A friend of mine works for Cambrian Credit Union and he told me there are 2 positions open in his branch, so I suppose there is that too. That being said, it'd feel weird to leave such a great organisation as RBC for a small fish like a credit union.
Who wants to move with me to the UK and start over there? That could be fun, eh?
I have been totally against language issues and jobs recently - they have been a barrier to me getting a few jobs....why do I live so close to Quebec? Hard to switch to a 'smaller fish' - try to stay big ..
Great news about the grass cutting, again - such a fan of your mower!!
lol Now I understand why you got the Simpsons-esque lawnmower.
Toronto's another place where being uniligual will put you at a disadvantage. Right now I'm wishing I spoke Spanish because I have lots of Spanish students in my classes and I want to know what they're saying... Sometime I'm gonna get my Peruvian friend to teach me swear words in Spanish and also how to say useful things like 'stop talking' and 'get to work'.
I hope that the position of your dreams find you.
Grass cutting at 10pm, sounds like a great time.
Good luck with the new job.

Listening to your iPod and mowing the lawn...What other two things are better? Glad you had a good time mowing your lawn :)
That's too bad that you have to find a new position. I think you should be picky! You don't want to just pick any old place to work, you don't want to hate your job.
Hope everything works out.
an adventure to the UK is my vote! this is the time to make sure we have no regrets in the future, the time to do crazy and exciting things because we're not tied down by marriage, kids and our material possessions are still very few. throw caution to the wind!
I might be heading to Australia next year on one of them working holiday visas...gonna try and get me some experience at the ABC,,,the Australian Broadcasting Corp. :)
language issues!? pppft, the london financial sector is booming... cheap flights with zoom...
